These packs have been designed to provide paediatric medical staff with a quick and easy orientation to breastfeeding, so that they are equipped to protect and support breastfeeding while still practising safely.
Presented in a straightforward manner, the packs are aimed at health professionals with a good knowledge and experience of breastfeeding. The orientation is designed to be delivered either as two separate one-hour sessions or in a single two-hour session.
Each pack consists of a clear instruction booklet plus notes for teachers on the two sessions, as well as slides, overheads and handouts to support the teaching. The teaching packs also contain a starter package of 20 handbooks; more can be bought from the Baby Friendly Initiative or photocopied/printed from the CD.
The orientation pack is presented in a sturdy polypropylene box for easy storage. An accompanying CD contains slide shows and other useful files. Extra packs of the orientation handbooks are £35.00.
